Velda City Precinct
Velda City, Missouri
Velda City, Missouri, is a small St. Louis County municipality developed primarily in the 1940s by the Schuermann Organization as part of the post-WWII housing boom. Located near Lucas and Hunt Road, the city is characterized by 1940s brick homes, such as bungalows and Tudor Revivals, and has grown into a community of over 1,000 residents.
Like many of the towns up off of the general vicinity of Natural Bridge Road, Velda City has its own distinctive architectural style, with what I call the “giraffe” style stone houses alternating with brick Gingerbread houses.
is a small, vibrant municipality in St. Louis County, Missouri, known for its dense community feel and unique architectural charm. Often described as a “quiet suburb,” it offers residents a blend of historic aesthetics and modern municipal independence.
